Our Team

Reach Mission Trips is composed of only five full-time staff members, which has many benefits to you and your youth group. With only five salaries to pay, more of your registration fee is applied to the actual mission trip you attend and the homes you repair. It also means that quality control is held to the highest standard as there is always at least one full-time staff member present at every Reach Mission Trip. If you have an issue that needs to be addressed, there is no middle man to go through, you work with people that make the decisions. Your group will be in good hands if you choose to serve at a Reach Mission Trip as the five of us have over 300 mission trips under our belts…which translates to many nights sleeping on air mattresses on school floors!  We are a tight group that works hard, plays harder, laughs a lot, and loves what we get to do everyday.  We trust you will see our passion through every camp we run.

Katie Jones
Katie JonesDirector of Development
Katie has loved Reach for a long time as a camper, volunteer, program manager, and emcee and is beyond grateful for the incredible people that Reach has allowed her to know. Katie spent the last six years as an elementary teacher in both Africa and the US, and she is looking forward to a new season of life hanging out with staff and writing curriculum. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, taking pictures, and anything in the mountains. God has used Reach to draw Katie closer to Himself in countless ways over the years and she is excited to learn and serve alongside staff and campers again this summer.
Mike Jones
Mike JonesFounder and Director of Advancement
Mike is entering his 32nd year of mission trips! It’s estimated that Mike has spent over 2 1/2 years sleeping on an air mattress at camp. As a former Jr. and Sr. High math teacher, he started directing workcamps in the summers, along with his wife Lori of 31 years. In 1992, Mike helped co-found Reach Mission Trips. They have three grown children: Katie, Bethie, and David. Mike enjoys playing the guitar, reading, and hanging out with his family. At Reach, Mike handles tasks such as writing our programs, finding new donors, and many other duties that may go unseen by the normal workcamper.
